The shape of your face is a singular factor in deciding the most flattering hair style for yourself. It is the starting point to choose a new hairstyle. Your hair type is the next consideration. Primarily the facial structure decides the cut.
Hair designers can tell you of your face shape, but you can find out yourself. Take a tape measure and measure the following. Your face across the top of your cheekbones. Write down the measurement. Measure across your forehead at the widest point. Generally the widest point will be somewhere about halfway between your eyebrows and your hairline. Write this down. Measure from the tip of your hairline to the bottom of your chin.
Length equal to one and a half times width makes for an oval face. The round face is as wide as it is long. An oblong face is longer than it is wide. The heart shaped face is narrow at the jaw line and wide at the cheekbones and or the forehead. The square face is about as wide as it is long. The diamond face is widest at cheekbones, narrow forehead and jaw line of approximately equal widths.
Depending now on your face cut and the texture of your hair – natural, wavy, straight or curly you can go in for the short, medium or long haircuts that suit the facial structure.
